About this deal
The large capacity of this model makes it a very practical option for feeding families up to six, or for filling up the freezer with leftovers. As the meat requires searing before cooking, if we were able to do this straight in the cooking pot, we did so. Flavours won't become more concentrated because the liquid doesn't reduce, so try to pack in as much flavour as you can. This is a 160W slow cooker with the capacity to feed a family of four, or two with leftovers the next day.
There’s no need to reach for separate pans when prepping food for this slow cooker; it’s equipped with a powerful and even brown/sauté setting, meaning anything that needs to be seared ahead of time can be done directly in the cooking pot. litre capacity cooking bowl, you have ample space to serve the family a delicious meal or even storing some away for a few days. It's also worth bearing in mind that the capacity stated on the sales blurb is the size of the bowl, not the working capacity, which can sometimes be half that. The stainless-steel outer of this multi-cooker is incredibly sleek, and manages to be relatively compact option while also offering a 6. On the plus side, the hinged lid allowed us to check in on our dishes without leaving splatters or drips of condensation on the worktop.

We wanted to see brands pointing us in the direction of spare parts and transparency around how to recycle the product after use and where the product was made. It comes with three settings: high, medium and low, and has an automatic timer that runs for up to 12 hours in one-hour increments. We looked for three key qualities in our final stews: tender and succulent meat, well cooked vegetables that retained some bite, and a flavoursome, slightly thickened sauce. Once all the ingredients are prepped and compiled, it’s a hands-off process left to low-and-slow heat distribution on functions that usually run for from four to eight hours, thus intensifying the flavours and tenderising meat (if using) until it can be scooped off the bone with a spoon.
It’s a modest option owing to the three simple settings: low, high and keep warm, but it gets the basics right. If you've kept a slow cooker dish in the fridge, you must wait for it to warm up before turning it on.

Complete with 3 heat settings along with a keep warm function, allowing you to serve when you are ready. The light tone of the ivory cooking dish is a little impractical when it comes to baked-on marks from caramelised ingredients, but a hot, soapy soak softened these during testing before the dishwasher finished the job. Grilling, dehydrating, yogurt-making, baking/roasting and steaming are also well-performing functions. I understand that the yield from this beast is usually 8 servings, but the few recipes that came in the instruction booklet (food I’m not keen on anyway) were 5 or 6 servings.Slow cookers tend to leach meat of its colour, so it’s important for appearance and flavour that they are well browned to start with.
This product forms part of the Tower Scandi range which includes a wide selection of kitchen essentials, including a toaster, kettle, microwave and coffee maker. Some of the controls also confused us – the button that looks like an 'on/off' switch is actually just an 'off' switch, and we failed to find any reference to this in the manual. It did a fantastic job on our slow cooker test though; the locks kept the lid firmly in place and our beef stew had been nicely reduced, though the meat was ever so slightly dry. It's incredibly gentle but effective in its cooking, producing meat that simply falls apart with zero burning after a full eight-hour test. The slow cookers featured in this review were tested in controlled conditions using a standardised testing criteria. Simple slow cookers are generally low-wattage appliances, and can be more energy-efficient alternatives to using your traditional electric oven for cooking dishes like large joints of meat, saving you money on your energy bills. Multi-cookers generally offer slow-cooking among their roster of cooking functions, so are also great options for getting more from your money – we've included a few among our tried and tested favourites. Simple to use, the slow cooker can cook meals over time, just add your ingredients and let the slow cooker do the rest.
