About this deal
I wasn't paying the closest attention to the fact that it was a novella and a prequel novella at that.
Holly Jackson started writing stories from a young age, completing her first (poor) attempt at a novel aged fifteen. Even though I am EXTREMELY upset about the plot twist at the end, this is my first time ever reading a novella and I TRULY had so much fun with it.The whole book is a murder mystery party which is great and all but nothing happens aside from a bunch of kids playing a fake murder game. Watching her brain at work, her competitive streak showing, and her love of puzzle solving, all underlined by a slight constant discomfort with the Andie Bell case at the back of her mind. If you've read the entire series, you may recognize these two names from Book 2, Good Girl, Bad Blood.
Though the end of the game wasn’t huge, I got a kick out of Pip and her defeat and how she handled it. This fantastic little prequel is just what mystery lovers need, at whatever point they are at in the series. It feels more cozy than suspenseful, but the book does a nice job of injecting some dark atmosphere into the mix, so it's still quite riveting. Jackson ensnares readers in another highly addictive web, woven from the dark shadows of small-town secrets. pip gave off introverted vibes which i usually don’t mind in a book, but in a group setting differs when u choose to be isolated. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. If a refund or reimbursement is payable to you, we will transfer the money using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. Pippa Fitz-Amobi, the protagonist, is not excited about attending her friend’s murder mystery party but as she joins in the fun, she finds herself drawn into the world of intrigue, deception, and murder. And hopefully it will be a fun addition for readers of the main series who aren’t ready to let go of Pip quite yet—I know the feeling!
Their plates were empty all apart from Pip’s because there had been too much thinking to do to concentrate on eating. This is the prelude to the sensational bestselling and very well worth reading (well the first two books in the series) A Good Girl's Guide to Murder trilogy. That being said, I do want to read the series now simply because I think there's promise there in that direction. But as Pip plays detective, teasing out the identity of the killer clue-by-clue, the murder of the fictional Reginald Remy isn't the only case on her mind . Scheduled to pub on February 28, 2023, with a 200,000-copy first printing is Jackson’s first prequel, Kill Joy: A Girl’s Guide to Murder Novella, whose cover is revealed here.
It was difficult for me to learn the multiple characters' names, and even more difficult for me to learn the cast of characters they were playing. It also shows how she initially decided to investigate Andie Bell's murder (despite it being a closed case), which was the plot of Book 1. This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use. In Five Survive she balances multiple challenging things: a ticking time bomb element, a small, close setting, and a well-crafted backstory for each character, all while building suspense until the very end.
