About this deal

Part of the series of books that includes Bilal’s Brilliant Bee and Barking for Bagels, Fluff the Farting Fish is a short early reader novel that will delight 6-7 year olds looking for a fun story and a few giggles along the way.

It has humour, fun black and white illustrations and just the right amount of text on each page to be fun and not daunting. Our Reading Den is a place for you and your child to discover and share books, find new authors and explore stories.

The narrowness of his course of study proved a source of dissatisfaction and Michael began looking outside his recommended reading to contemporary working, class ballads. His first degree in English Literature and Language was from Wadham College, Oxford and he went on to study for an MA at the University of Reading and a PhD at the former University of North London, now London Metropolitan. He quickly made a name for himself with his collections of humorous verse and picture books for children. Fluff can’t sit, she won’t bark on command, but she does have a very special fishy talent all of her own .

The stories are funny and would be just as suitable for a parent to read to their child, chapter by chapter , or to help encourage reluctant readers to pick out words they recognise and then have the page read to then. As ever, former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen tells a delightfully relatable story – this time, to kids who are desperate for a pet. This, says Michael, was a turning point – “Suddenly it all fused: the writing, the performing, the popular audience. He was awarded the Eleanor Farjeon prize for services to Children’s literature in 1997, and was Children’s Laureate from 2007-2009. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

He was the Children’s Laureate from 2007-2009 and has published over 200 books for children and adults, including the recent bestseller Many Different Kinds of Love and On The Move.He regularly performs his poetry in schools, and can be heard on BBC Radio 4 as a regular presenter. Michael Rosen was born into a London Jewish family, the son of two distinguished educators – Connie and Harold Rosen.
