About this deal

To retain the natural characteristics of this oak aged Indian Malt Whisky, we do not chill filter, some haze may therefore be noticed in the product. Palate better than the nose but there are plenty of single malt scotches and single malt irish whiskies that are better.

Palate: Slight burn from the alcohol (it is 46% ABV) but it is barely noticable, it gets almost immediately drowned out with a honey and barely flavor. The fraction lost to evaporation during ageing, known as the angels' share, is also higher in India, at 11–12% per year, than in Scotland, where the annual evaporative loss is about 2%. Amrut whisky has gained global recognition with a series of awards and accolades and they continue to win over whisky lovers the world over. Deliveries are usually with you 24/48 hours after the goods leave us, but recently have been taking slightly longer. The spirit used in the product is matured in either ex-Bourbon or new casks, and then in Sherry casks imported from Spain and Portugal.

From Indian Whisky pioneer Amrut, this expression is the first triple distilled Single Malt from India. To be eligible for a full refund you must contact us to inform us of any issue within 24 hours of receipt.

According to head of international operations Ashok Chokalingam, "In our belief, it is not all about the influence of Sherry in the whisky. uk accepts no liability for inaccuracies or misstatements about products by manufacturers or other third parties. East meets West as Amrut create a fusion of Indian and Scotch barleys to produce this unique multi-award winning Malt Whisky. Distilled in the 'plant capital' of Bangalore, each unit is matured in American Oak Barrels and filtered straight into the bottles to sustain its natural flavour and colour. The Second Edition used second-fill Bourbon casks and was bottled at 50% abv, while the First Edition was matured in ex-grain casks and bottled 46% abv. Aromas of caramelised biscuits are backed with a subtle spice finish and a hint of orange peel for an added citrus zing. It is about the balanced profile of the whisky – to see how the Sherry butts can complement the whisky rather than dominating it".
