I’m tempted to get a bottle of Black Bush to compare, but from my memory I seem to think Black Bush is a little more refined I could be wrong though. Jameson Black Barrel (AKA Small Batch) is a super release from Jameson, with a high proportion of Irish pot still whiskey as well as small-batch grain.

The Midleton Distillery where Jameson is produced has reduced energy consumption by 30% since 2010, and water consumption by 33% since 2011. Jameson Black Barrel Irish Whiskey is a blend of our traditional Irish pot still and rare small batch grain whiskeys, triple distilled and twice charred, for a rich smooth taste. Nose Rich and fruity with notes of tropical fruits, coconut, nectarines in yoghurt, guava and a thick core of sweet cereals. Definitely it’s spent most of its time in Sherry barrels, it’s got just enough burn it’s not as smooth as I would have liked it’s quite young maybe 4- 5 years old , but the finish is long and enjoyable.
