Cover Your Assets Grandpa Beck's Games from The Creators of Skull King | Easy to Learn and Outrageously Fun for Kids, Teens, & Adults | 2-6 Players Ages 7+
About this deal
You can get all of your stuff stolen by other players without much of a way to defend yourself, so if everyone decides that you’re losing this round, you’re most likely losing this round. After the last card is played, players total up the value of all cards in their asset pile and add that to their score from prior rounds.
To keep the set from being stolen by another player, the best thing you can do is to Cover Your Assets, by creating a new pair from your hand, or by stealing a set from the top of another player’s stack during your next turn. So when you can hide and bury those high-value Gold and Silver cards lower in your pile, you’re doing well. After the draw pile is emptied, players continue playing in the same manner just without the ability to replenish their hand. The decision space is limited enough that downtime doesn’t increase a ton, and also you can get robbed by any player at any time, so there’s still stuff happening even when it isn’t your turn. The top set of assets in your pile is vulnerable, and can be stolen by other players if they show you a matching asset card, or wild (which are Silver and Gold cards) from their hand. This is essentially a set collection game with a ‘take that’ mechanism that can be played in just 20 minutes for two to six players. While there are some fun ones out there, I usually get tired of them quickly and replay value is low for me. Every other asset you place will be set on top of the previous asset cross-cross, so that all assets made are kept separate.
You then go back and forth until the attacker or the defender concedes (willfully or is forced to concede by not having another card to play). At the end of each turn, all players must draw enough cards to replenish their hand back up to four. That’s why our first play was over our Christmas vacation — it’s so easy to pack and can be played almost anywhere. Make a pair from the discard pile: If the top card in the discard pile matches a card in their hand, the player may take the top card and make a pair with the card from their hand. Battle to become the first millionaire by building stacks of matching pairs of asset cards like Piggy Banks, Cash Under The Mattress, Jewels, and Classic Autos. Disclaimer: I received this game for free in exchange for my review, but believe me, I post authentic reviews every time and will be brazenly blunt if needs be. I appreciate the fact that the game includes advanced rules and the changes for two or three players. Because you have the high valued wild cards, you really need to develop a strategy for how you are going to use them, and under which assets you are going to try to hide and bury them so that you can keep them.
While you can add more players by combining sets, it is also recommended just to split into multiple groups of up to 6 players each.If you have two matching assets, or any asset and a wild card (Gold or Silver), you may play them face-up in your asset stack.
