About this deal

If you want to join a course late do bear in mind there might be work you will need to catch up on, particularly in language courses.

DK is known for its layouts filled with photographs and images that add to the information being presented, and this book was no different.

You see, both my mother and father have Swedish and Norwegian roots, and I've felt a deep desire to trace these roots back to magical practices. We recommend that you review the information on alternative medical therapies and consult with your doctor or other medical professional before making any decision regarding their use in your medical treatment. An excellent work on the history of magic from its earliest prehistoric roots to modern day practices.

Like all DK books, this one is beautifully illustrated, with pictures of artwork, crystals, herbs, amulets, and other magical objects from around the world.

A thoroughly enjoyable book, seeing the evolution of Magic, Witchcraft and the Occult from ancient times, through the lens of different religions and regions in the world, all the way through to modern day depiction in our society, social media and traditional media. In the summer of 1985, a brilliant young British DNA scientist Helena Greenwood is found murdered in her front garden in a quiet suburb in California. That’s why we create books for everyone that explore ideas and nurture curiosity about the world we live in. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. This indispensable witchcraft book explores the common human fascination with spells, superstition and the supernatural.

The topics range from the general history, but then it goes into greater details about a variety of topics to give the reader a little more insight. From alchemy and modern Wicca to paganism and shamanism, this enchanting book takes you on a mystical journey that will leave you spellbound.Engaging text and lavish illustrations with over 500 full-color images that bring the subject to life.

I really enjoyed reading about different magical herbs, astral magic, and protective objects from around the globe. I had this on audible, but I will be getting the hardback copy too because it's a fantastic reference starting point. While the book boasts visually appealing illustrations, the writing style falls short in capturing my interest. Peter Attia draws on the latest science to deliver innovative nutritional interventions, techniques for optimizing exercise and sleep, and tools for addressing emotional and mental health.Quick-fact panels explore magic origins, key figures, key deities, uses in spells, structures of religions, and more. Still, if there is an oral tradition, I am unaware of with some of this that could be accounted for. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. Still, I missed a few things because I did not have a visual representation of something that I assume are in the book from how the audio goes. DK books - especially their incredible Eye Witness series (which I lapped up like water in a desert as a youngster) were an integral element of my early reading years as well.
